19th September 2016, Stob Dearg, Buachaille Etive Mor (M110), 3350ft, 1021m
My friend Janine came over from The Netherlands for a day to climb a mountain. I drove her down Glen Coe and back up again, offering her a choice between the Lost Valley and Bidean nan Bian or the ridge of Buachaille Etive Mor. She chose the latter. When we got to the summit of Stob Dearg with a number of other keen people, the familiar croak of a raven grew louder in the cloud and then a bird landed and walked purposefully to the pinnacle stone on the small cairn, where he stood for some time posing for the cameras and preventing anybody else standing at the summit.
